The Musser M240 Studio Grand Marimba features 4.3 octaves of wide graduated African Padauk (or Padouk) bars, set in the A2-C7 note range. Padauk is slightly less dense than rosewood but offers the natural response and character of wood for an affordable price. The resonators are made of high-grade light aluminium tubing for a full and rich sound, coated with silver vein powder coating for scratch-resistant durability. Sitting on a handsome black wood concert frame, the M240 is a fantastic option for a teaching studio or rehearsal room, or first full size marimba for the serious student.
The Studio Grand marimbas are available with 3 different bar materials: African Padauk (M240), Kelon (M240K), or Rosewood (M245). Standard tuning is to A = 442 Hz, alternate tunings are also available.
